Practical and non-coercive interviewing strategies will be presented for use with reluctant or resistant subjects. The workshop will also explore the benefits of incorporating additional interviewing methodologies, such as Motivational Interviewing, and introduce evidence-based credibility assessment techniques.

How to elicit and manage critical information during an investigative interview

Strategic interviewing methods have emerged as valuable tools for investigators in recent years. This workshop focuses on science-based interviewing techniques to enhance an investigator's ability to elicit and manage information during an investigative interview. It is best suited for professionals who conduct investigative interviews in challenging and high-stakes contexts (e.g., respondent and criminal suspect interviews). While prior evidence-based foundational training, such as the Investigative Interviewing Techniques and/or Advanced Interviewing Techniques workshops, is recommended, it is not required. Hence, individuals interested in these topics are welcome to register.
